Pit Fire -firing-

We started the fire at 8:30 in the morning.

Making a nice thick coal bed for our pieces.

Putting tamping layer on top for the pieces to avoid thermal shock.

Loading the pieces!

Cover the pieces with more cow pie, manure, and scrap wood.

Putting sheet metals on top created a huge smoke!

3 hours later. There is less smoke, but the fire is still going.

12 hours after we started the fire, the pit is still burning.
We have to wait to unload until the fire is out and the pit is completely cooled down.

Pit Fire -preparation-

Gathering fuels. Scrap wood from a construction site and other places, compost, bagged manure and cow pie.
