Almaty travel log #3 :)

この日はシンブラックという冬は地元の人にも人気のスキーリゾートである場所に行きました。

世界で一番高地にあるメデウスケートリンクからバスに乗ります。

この日はバスでしたが、夏のシーズンはケーブルカーで山を眺めながらシンブラックに行けます。

Just a short drive from the city is a popular ski resort for locals and tourists, called Shimblak.We took a bus from Medeu ice rink, which is an ice rink located at the highest elevation in the world.

During summer time there is a cable car service that has a beautiful mountain view.

シンブラックに到着するとおしゃれなカフェやレストランがあります。

At Shimblak, there are fancy cafes and restaurants with great view!

最高の景色を眺めながらのんびりお茶です。

帰りのバス。

ちなみにカザフスタンのみなさんは列を作らずバスが到着すると速い者順で乗ります。

地元の方によると列を作る習慣がないそうです。

これはまだコツがつかめてません。

A Kazakh person told me that Kazakh people don’t really form a line, which is interesting to me.It’s first come first serve bases and I still am not used to this since in Japan everyone gets in line to wait.

お昼はウイグル料理のレストランでラグメンを頂きました。

サラダとキムチのような辛いのがのった白いこんにゃくのような物も。

とっても美味しいです

Delicious Lagmen for lunch at an Uighur restaurant.

We also had some salads and something similar to Kimchi and yam.

大きい公園を抜けてアルマティ動物園へ向かいます。

本当に緑豊かな大きい公園がたくさんの街です。

Walking through a (another) huge park and heading to Almaty zoo.

シマウマと人の間に柵がないのはびっくりしました。

It looked like I was the only one who was surprised by the fact that 

there weren’t any fences between the zebras and the people.

大好きなサイガ！

夕飯にご招待いただき、豪快に鯉を庭で丸焼きした

お料理をいただきました。

Dinner at a lovely family’s home.

The husband had prepared a grilled Carp which he cooked in his yard!

アルマティから車で1時間ほどの所にある

タルガリという町の景色です。

鳥の声と風の音に耳を澄ませます。

Beautiful scenery from a town called Talgari,

about an hour drive from Almaty.

There were only the sounds of the wind and the singing of birds.

お昼は市内のブッフェ形式のレストランで、

プロフやシャシリクを頂きました。

とても人気なレストランだそうで、

着いた時は既にお料理が無かったので少し待ちました。

赤紫の飲み物は果物を煮詰めたジュースだそうです。

Lunch at a popular buffet restaurant.

The place is so popular when we got there all the foods were gone

so we waited a bit while they prepared more food.

We had Pilov, shashilik and some salads which were all delicious!

The juice is made from boiled fruits.

1909年に建てられた、聖ニコラス教会です。

中は金の装飾できらびやか。

St. Nicholas Cathedral, built in 1909.

The bright green color is amazing and the inside was filled with

golden ornaments.

市内からロープウェイでコクトベという丘に登ります。

Taking the cable car to Kok Tobe hill from the city.

ちょうど雨もやんで虹が見えました。

ちょっと雲がかかってますが天山山脈もすぐそこです。

Once we were at the top (about 1100m) it had stopped raining and there was a rainbow!

Though it was a little cloudy, Tian Shan mountains seemed so close from the top of Kok Tobe.

とっても良い景色。

コクトベには観覧車などの乗り物や小さい動物園もあります。

ロープウェイに乗るときに乗り物セット券を買うと乗ことができます。

こちらはなんと手動のジェットコースターでした！

かなり速度出ます。笑

There are some attractions and a small zoo at the top.

The one on the photo is something like a manual roller coaster.

It goes pretty fast...

速いですが、とてもいい景色です！

市内までこれでおりるのかと思いきや、

途中までくだり、あとは上に戻ってくるという仕組みでした。

（上に戻る時は自動）

I thought it would take us all the way back to the city but it goes about half way down the hill

and comes back up automatically.

アルマティ市内の南にあるFirst President's park （大統領公園？）

という公園です。

こちらの公園もとっても広く、晴れた日は天山山脈を

眺めることができます。

ちなみにこの写真は夜７時ごろですがまだまだ明るいです！

It's a huge park with a great view of the mountains (plus a rainbow this time!)

The photo was taken around 7pm but it was still very light out.

In Yokohama, where I currently live, is gets dark around 7pm in May so I lost track of time.

また虹がありました。

5月のアルマティは雨が降ったりやんだりが多いそうです。

Almaty weather is unpredictable in May.

夜はご招待いただいて素敵なウイグル家庭料理を頂きました。

かぼちゃのマンティ(大きい小籠包のようなもの)、サモサ、ナン、

牛肉と野菜を3時間煮込んだドゥムラマというお料理、手作りデザートなどなど

どれも素晴らしく美味しいお料理でした。

カザフスタンの方々のおもてなしの心は本当にものすごく温かくて

学ぶことがたくさんです。

I was invited to a family dinner and had an amazing Uyghur family meal.

Punmpkin Mantee, Samsa, Nan, Domlyama (Beef and vegetables cooked for 3 hours),

home made desserts and more.

They were all amazingly delicious and filled with love.

Kazakh people's hospitality is just so unbelievably amazingly kind and heart warming,

I have so much to learn!

ドライフルーツは本当に中央アジアのみなさんの生活の一部なんだなー

と実感。

So many huge dried fruits!

They're really part of people's daily lives here.

ちょうどラマダンのはじまりでしたので人が集まっていました。

カザフスタンのアルマティへ : Almaty, Kazakhstan: Travel log #1

5月中旬にカザフスタンのアルマティへ行きました。

出発前に"地球の◯◯方"を参考にさせて頂きましたが

情報は限られており、

いざ現地へ行くと、いい意味で驚きが色々ありましたので

その時の写真をご紹介します。

Almaty, Kazakhstan has been on my "must visit list" for a while, and this May I was able to visit this beautiful city!

Before the trip I didn't have much information about the city, and my trip was filled 
with pleasant surprises and new discoveries.
Here is my travel log from the trip. Hope you'll enjoy!


アルマティ空港

メトロの駅
まずはメトロで市内を散策です

On the first day, we took a metro and walked around the city.



地下に降りるととても綺麗な空間です。
それにしても本当に空いていてびっくり。

乗る前にセキュリティーゲートを通ります。荷物検査もありました。
そして８０テンゲで黄色いコインをもらって
それを改札機に入れて乗ります。
どの駅でも一律８０テンゲです。
コインをもらう窓口の方は挨拶をしてもみなさんほぼ無反応です。
もちろん怖い人なわけではなく、ただ笑顔になる習慣がないだけと現地の方が言っていました。でもいざ話をするとみなさん親切です。

Inside the station was surprisingly empty, which felt unreal.
(I currently live in Yokohama, Japan where train stations are always full of people)

You go through a security check before buying a ticket.
The metro is 80 tenge for any station. After paying 80 tenge you will receive a 
yellow coin which you put in a gate.



今の所全部で９駅あります。この先の駅も現在建設中だそうです。

There are 9 stations in total and more are under construction.




駅はひとつひとつにテーマがあってそれに沿った装飾がされていて
とても綺麗です。

Each station is built with a theme and decorated according to the theme.
They are all very beautiful and museum like!





ジベックジョリ(意味はシルクロード)という歩行者天国の通り
Went to Zhibek Zholy (meaning Silk Road), which is a pedestrianized street with lots of cafes and restaurants.





ジョージア料理のレストランに行きました。
Had lunch at Georgian restaurant



シャシリク（羊肉の串焼き）とチーズがのったマッシュルーム
シャシリクにはケチャップのようなソースとヨーグルトソースが
付いてきました
Shashlik with ketchup and yogurt sauce.
Grilled mushrooms with cheese.

They were all very delicious!




中央モスク
入口は男性と女性で分かれています。
通りかかったおばあちゃまにお願いして、一緒に中に連れて行ってもらいました。
お祈りの仕方も見せてくれて、とても神秘的な時間に感動しました。
中では赤ちゃんと一緒に横になって休んでいるお母さんもいました。
みなさんの心やすらぐ場所という印象を受けました。

There is a separate entrance for men and women. I was lucky enough to enter
the mosque with a very kind elderly lady who showed me how to pray.
Inside, I saw a mother resting with her baby girl. 









ゼンコフ正教教会
（ロシア正教教会）
外は残念ながら修復中でしたが、写真では黄色とオレンジ色の眩しいとても
綺麗な建物です！
中は落ち着いた印象のモスクとはまた違って、きらびやかな印象でした。

とにかく道も公園もとっても広いです。そしてとても空いています！

建物が立派でこれを見られただけでも嬉しい。

A Yurt, traditional house of Kazakh people





今はまだキリル文字の道路標識ですが、
国の方針で近い将来、徐々にローマ字標識へ変わるそうです。
ちょっと寂しいです！

All Cyrillic alphabet road signs are said to be changed to Roman alphabet in the near future.
I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels nostalgic about this.
